I had an early 1980s King tenor, based on the Super 20, with the model number 2416. It played rather well. I sold it for what I thought was a good price to a jazz player from NYC who traveled 200 miles to buy it. He said he couldn't believe how low the price was ($900) and said it was as good as his Suoer 20. He sure sounded great play-testing it. I've been searching for this model but have never seen it listed anywhere. Do you have any info on the King 2416?

Thanks for getting in touch. I found a fellow who was trying to sell one some time back. Although he claimed it was a super 20 there was some question among sax players whether it was the same quality.

The discussion is here:

The photos at the following link tell me that it is built with a LOT of Super 20 features, even if it wasn't, technically a Super 20. I would expect it to play VERY well. So it's no wonder the jazz player was, er, jazzed about it.

Hope this helps - Paul
