This is part of a longer conversation, but I wanted to post the readers' photos here for other folks to see. In part, the reader writes:
Saxpics.com shows that specific numbers designated the horn finish, but i think this might be for new wonderseries II, as mine has none. Then again, mine may not be designated because it had been INTENDED to be a stencil, or it is just meant to be very plain. I am ok with plain, as the condition is great! Sure the value may be less because there is no naked lady and its an early model, but i am again fine with that.

Your horn is in excellent condition. No telling whether it was re-plated early (like pre-war) or that was its original plating and for some reason the fancy engraving never happened. The serial number says it was built in 1922 as a New Wonder I, and I don't have any reason to disbelieve it.
That said, very few Conn stencils had rolled tone holes, which yours has. I would consider it a legitimate Conn, even if there was no engraving at all.
Back then, there were no "student line" Conn saxes. This was a professional horn, the best Conn you could buy back in 1922.
Again, you'll notice it doesn't have the dynamic range of your alto, but they ARE fun to play.
Getting it padded and otherwise tweaked is definitely the right thing to do.
Let me know how the restoration works out.
